Club Fit For Business London event report

15 June 2015

On the 9th June, Club Fit For Business launched in London, at the offices and plush surroundings of Arbuthnot Latham. The evening was a business networking night featuring three England rugby world cup winners, Andy Gomarsall MBE, Claire Purdy and Mark Regan MBE, all in the aid of UK charity, The School of Hard Knocks. The event was fantastically MC’d by Ian Scott (Arbuthnot Latham) and Elin Haf Davies (Club Fit For Business Ambassador). The evening brought together a group from many and varied backgrounds, who all shared a common passion for sport and business.

Club Fit For Business would like to mention a special word of thanks to a number of people and organisations who helped made such a successful night. Firstly to the generosity of our hosts Arbuthnot Latham, who provided such an amazing venue and matching hospitality for the night. Specifically we would like to thank Nicole Burke for working so hard behind the scenes on this event. Secondly we would like to thank Elin Haf Davies who was an amazing MC and was a massive driving force behind the event. We would also like to thank Ian Clark from Midas Properties and Club F4B Ambassador Neil Clark.

We would also like to thank everyone, who donated prizes to the silent auction and raffle. In particular, Chatham Marine, Philip Marsh, James Wyndham, Atlantis Hotel, Qantas, Chris Frost and the School of Hard Knocks.

Finally we would like to say a huge thanks to everyone who attended (many people travelled from all corners of the UK and world ... Bristol, Plymouth, Belfast and Dubai!) and of course our guest speakers … all absolute legends and we never knew Mark Regan had a Harry Potter fan club!

Ian Scott, Head of Wealth Planning and Regional Office South West for Arbuthnot Latham & Co said about the evening:

“Arbuthnot Latham is proud to support Club Fit for Business and the School of Hard Knocks, hosting the rugby panel discussion last Tuesday, which involved a number of former international rugby players and world cup winners.  It was great to meet so many new people whilst giving back to such a worthy cause. Truly inspirational.”

Elin Haf Davies, Club Fit For Business ambassador said:

"Launching Club Fit For Business in London, in partnership with Arbuthnot Latham, having such a great Q&A panel meant that we had a brilliant event. Rugby for me will forever illustrate the personal skills required for business and life alike. I'm eagerly awaiting the next event already".

Liam Mooney, Founder of Club Fit For Business said:

“It was so pleasing to see a great turnout with people travelling from all over the UK to attend including Belfast, Plymouth and Bristol. We even had a couple of our members attend from Dubai. Nights like this gave us a huge platform to promote the message of sport to business and raise money for causes we believe in. We are very thankful to Arbuthnot Latham for that opportunity. I am always so grateful for the support and the many people that give up their time for free to help us, as our community builds. I cannot wait until the next event in London and we already have a speaker ear-marked, he just doesn’t know yet!”
