about club fit for business
Club Fit For Business is an award winning, not for profit sports business network founded in 2013. We are a private members business network, headquartered in Monaco. Membership is strictly invite only, or through recommendation from another member. We now run business networking events, promoting the message of sport to business in our headquarters in Monaco, as well as London and Dubai.
Our aims are to:-
- Promote the positive values of sport to business
- Bring together the sports business community and encourage business relationships through the sharing of connections, knowledge and information
- Encourage entrepreneurship in sports people, who are looking to set up their own business or invest in other companies
- Encourage the business community to give back to the wider community, through sporting opportunities
- Promote Monaco sport, business and community to the global community
- Forging business and community links between Monaco and other international countries
Club Fit For Business was originally set up by Liam Mooney, the founder of Blue Pencil in 2013 as a CSR initiative. It is now a joint venture between the owners of Blue Pencil and DCS, Monaco. Club Fit For Business promotes the message and values of sport to both business and the wider community. Sport is a great way of bringing people together and since inception the Club Fit For Business network has been growing stronger every day as we connect people in business who have a passion for sport. The network had over 40,000 subscribers by the end of 2015 and has been the recipient of several prestigious business awards.
We currently run sports business networking events in Monaco, London and Dubai encouraging the sports business community to connect, share business contacts, knowledge and information as well as do business together. We’ve had many prominent people from the sports world speaking to our network including ‘BBC Sports Personality of the Year’ winner and Champion Jockey AP McCoy OBE, charismatic English cricketer Kevin Pietersen, Rugby World Cup winner, Josh Lewsey MBE and Ian Walker, one of Britain’s most successful sailors. We’ve also had some great talks from CEOs and business leaders with a sporting background including Colm McLoughlin, Executive Chairman of Dubai Duty Free. Our events are truly inspirational and we have some great names from the world of sport and business lined up for 2016! For photos of our events, please click here.
As well as bringing people who have a passion for sport together, we encourage entrepreneurship in sports people who are either looking to set up their own business or invest in business through our ‘Business After Sport-Business Mentoring Programme’. Helping athletes that have transitioned or are in the process of transitioning from a career in sport into business has been very successful as a number of these athletes already had huge entrepreneurial talent, but just needed the support and guidance to get them through. For more information on our mentoring programme please click here.
We also believe that sport should be accessible to all children and that businesses should be investing more into providing accessible sport to children, as they are the leaders and workforce of the future. Playing sports early in life can give young people important values and life skills for the future. The Club Fit For Business ‘Sport in the Community’ programme will create more opportunities for young people to participate in sport, particularly those from disadvantaged backgrounds. We are currently working with Active Communities Network (ACN), a youth and community development charity working with young people from disadvantaged communities from all around the world.
